We're looking for an experienced Engineering Strategist to join our fast-growing Engineering Strategy Team in the Office of the CTO to help us unleash the potential of every business. This role is responsible for shaping and communicating the strategic vision for engineering and ensuring alignment with the broader organizational investment strategy and goals. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic thought leader and change agent, partnering with senior leaders to define and maintain development strategies, enable effective delivery, capture value, and drive governance.

• Strategic Vision & Executive Narration:

- Define, maintain, and communicate a consolidated strategic view of development strategy, initiatives, and outcomes.

- Rationalize the development portfolio, ensuring alignment with the broader investment strategy.

- Develop and deliver board and executive content, including end-state architecture narratives, staffing strategies, and CTO goals.

- Act as the chief delegate for the Director of Engineering Strategy, performing ad hoc analysis and material creation as needed.

• Delivery Enablement:

- Maintain modernization roadmaps, aligned with broader product roadmaps, in partnership with program management teams.

- Lead outcome-focused trade-off facilitation, providing strategic insights rooted in long-term vision and external benchmarking.

• Governance:

- Define, mature, and standardize the development organizational governance model across all lines of business, aligning with enterprise governance.

- Drive automation and streamlining across governance forums in partnership with key groups

Where you’ll own it

While we’re a large team of Worldpayers based in North America, we have collaborative spaces and regular opportunities to celebrate with each other in person. 

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree

• 4+ years of overall experience, previous experience in consulting preferred

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact effectively with personnel and management across technical and business functions

• Previous experience in payments/fintech is preferred

• Strong interpersonal, communication & quantitative skills

• Dexterous multitasker ready to jump in to tackle new challenges thoughtfully

• Strong sense of teamwork and motivation to contribute to the professional growth of your colleagues
