We are looking for a Senior Property Consulting Engineer for the Large Corporate Property team. This fire and natural catastrophe risk engineering role conducting on-site property risk assessments will be remote and can be located anywhere in the continental U.S.

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help our clients to optimize risk management procedures in the long term.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Corporate Property Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing loss control expertise, support, and assistance to AzC and its customers, and assist Allianz Account Engineering and Underwriting in risk evaluation of assigned locations. You will conduct property risk assessments at assigned locations using NFPA and other industry standards. In order to accomplish this, you will need to develop and maintain professional working relationships with ARC Account Engineers, underwriting, clients, and brokers, as well as maintain and enhance relevant technical skills and expertise to support the business.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Independently support large clients or clients with complex technical risks. Complete property risk assessments and plan reviews for underwriting and clients, evaluating and summarizing exposures and controls.
- Survey large client operations in various occupancy segments, obtain appropriate data, identify hazards and discuss findings with appropriate parties.
- Work effectively on assignments while strictly adhering to specified Account Servicing Instructions, Global Standard Operations Procedures (GSOP), and appropriate Property Risk Engineering guidelines and principles.
- Generate loss control reports, recommendations, confirmation letters etc. as a result of site visits. Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives. Ensure appropriate data entry and quality in accordance with GSOP and management requirements.
- This position requires good time management, organization, and communication skills.
- Assist AzC and clients with respect to ongoing or specific projects. Participate in Business Expert Groups/Industry Verticals and other ARC initiatives. Participate in ARC Global (inter-regional), cross-LoB and/or cross-functional projects as warranted. Assist with training within ARC Large Corporate Property, other LoB's and other functions (e.g., underwriting) as requested.
What You’ll Bring to the Role –
- Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience in a Highly Protected Risk (HPR) type insurance environment relevant to the Large Corporate Property Line of Business.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge and professional experience in various industry sectors/occupancies.
- Experience in specialized industries (semi-conductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive) hazards (Nat-Cat – wind, seismic, BI/IBI/CBI/Supply Chain, emerging risks), and willingness to assist with or learn the Account Engineering role is a plus.
- Experience in the insurance industry – being able to talk the language of property insurance as well as loss prevention/fire protection, including Nat-Cat, loss estimates, sprinklers/water supplies, construction, etc.
