About the role

We seek a driven, strategic, and technical team manager with experience supporting a high-growth technology business. This position is within the Oracle Cloud Global Network Planning group and will lead a global team of Network Planners to help us expand and scale the next generation of Oracle Cloud services. A successful candidate will have a blend of business knowledge, team management experience and technical skills that enables them to make the best decisions for our customers and products. The ideal candidate will operate independently across our organization, partnering with other leaders within Networking, Data Center, Region Build, Engineering and Operations. This role will lead Regional Network Planning, leading a team of Senior and Principal Planners responsible for planning and sourcing network circuits and capacity for our global market expansions and augments. You and your team are expected to develop correct technical solutions with our partners, and communicate those recommendations internally. A planner should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to represent Oracle Cloud to senior technical leaders and C-level executives at our partners.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience delivering network infrastructure in the Telecom, Datacenter, or Cloud Infrastructure industries.
  • Experience working cross functional with engineering, operations, and capacity planning teams. 
  • Experience developing and growing teams of individual contributors.
  • The ability to document metrics and recommendations to internal technical leadership as well as VPs and SVPs
  • Ability to work independently and propose solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to represent the business and technical needs of Oracle with VP and C-level executives at our partners
  • Able to support negotiation of commercial pricing and technical requirements of IP transit, wavelengths, and dark fiber
  • Highly proficient in Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, and Confluence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a global team of diverse Network Planners responsible for new market network strategy and ongoing scaling for organic demand and unique customer needs
  • Manage prioritization and risk assessment of a circuit planning and site evaluation pipeline for infrastructure expansion
  • Identify, create and monitor  business and operational metrics for the Network Planning team
  • Work across teams to design and launch new processes, institute process improvements and automation, and ensure the achievement of process objectives.
  • Create and automate reporting, including monthly business reviews (MBRs).
  • Run programs independently, including critical projects, executive project reporting and execution.
  • Create presentations, documents and other artifacts needed to communicate across the organization.
  • Manage both technical and non-technical projects.
  • Identify and remove blockers for the Network Planning team

US: Hiring Range: from $111,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
