About the role
The Basics:
As a Director, Product Management at Tanium, you will serve as a voice of the customer to engineering in understanding and prioritizing development efforts for Tanium products. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with engineering, technical account managers, subject matter experts, and the product management teams to ensure smooth development and maintenance of said product(s).
What you’ll do:
- Participate in creating, managing, prioritizing, and communicating technical product roadmap, and backlog items
- Collaborate with product management to define the strategic short and long term roadmap
- Work with the product management, user experience, development, and quality assurance teams to deliver on an agreed-upon roadmap
- Work with a remote, cross-functional, and globally distributed team as part of the agile development process
- Work with product management, customer support, technical writers, and product marketing to provide input into implementation guides, whitepapers, and community knowledge articles
- Actively participate in research and development (R&D), prototyping, proof of concepts, and building environments for internal and external product demos and testing
- Assess and address technical risks
- Work with enablement teams (SME, TSE, etc.) to ensure the appropriate materials are provided to ensure successful enablement/training on new features and updates
- Document technical specifications, use cases, requirements, and detailed user interface mockups and the underlying business logic
- Come up with product metrics to measure the success and quality of our products
- Monitor and measure the success of launched features to maintain a tight learning loop, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to continually inform the product development process
- Build relationships across the organization and facilitate communication between cross-divisional groups to ensure our tooling and processes are driving product improvement
- Develop and maintain the role of a “trusted advisor” with product leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive long-term impact
- Participate in the full product enhancement lifecycle, from requirements gathering and prioritization of enhancement requests through design and oversight of implementation
- Bring strong awareness and knowledge of direct competitors to ensure that Tanium’s products offerings are leaders in their respective landscape
- Able to conduct capability analysis on a regular basis
- Collaborate closely with other Product Managers to ensure alignment across teams, understanding priorities and inter-dependencies across various initiatives
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar) or equivalent work experience
- Technology background, preferably with security, systems management, IT asset or operations management products
Qualifications
- Technically savvy, has exposure to software development, and system integration
- Ability to identify and mitigate development and implementation risks
- Ability to think big and influence across all levels of an organization
- Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
- Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design
- Experience using OKRs to drive product outcomes
