About the role:

The Alcoa Strategy team is looking for an experienced Program Manager to work closely with the Executive Team and leaders across the organization to coordinate and report on the company’s top strategic initiatives (projects within the program are companywide and not limited to the strategy project portfolio).  The Program Manager will drive cross-functional alignment and foster effective decision making across multiple, interrelated projects.

The Program Manager will serve as an advisor to global project teams and facilitate clear communication with Alcoa’s Executive Team.  This individual will provide support for the entire lifecycle of projects. These activities are part of the role:

  • Workplan development:
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive workplans.
  • Execution oversight and reporting:
    • Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
    • Facilitate weekly updates with the Alcoa Executive team and ensure clear two-way communication between departments and leadership.
  • Risk management:
    • Proactively identify risks and opportunities to specific projects.
    • Review potential interdependencies between projects and develop mitigating actions.
  • Strategic support and coaching:
    • Translate strategic priorities into executable plans.
    • Improve current processes and optimize project management procedures.

What you can bring to this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years in program management, chief of staff, or management consulting roles.
  • 5+ years of end-to-end project management experience.
  • Strong communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of the business, particularly with Executive level.
  • Experience working in a global organization with global teams is preferred.
  • PMP certification and/or MBA is preferred.
