Job Title: Controls Project Engineer

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Controls Project Engineer–to join the Operations and Portfolio team in support of the Electrical, Electronics, Software Control System Design and Product Cyber Security organization.

Reporting to the Engineering Technology & Safety (ET&S) organization, the successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of complex Systems and Controls work packages.  Developing integrated plans, managing extensive budgets, whilst ensuring deliverables meet quality and cost through entire project life cycle.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Planning and execution of controls projects for Engineering Development programs.
  • Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the group of deliverables.
  • Development, administration, and maintenance of the project plans in Primavera P6 or MS Project and integrating with the program master schedule.
  • Capturing, monitoring, and reporting of status of the full project lifecycle, including managing effective customer relationships.
  • Make project engineering decisions and manage stake holders.
  • Develop / implement best practice in line with company management processes, including continuous improvement techniques to ensure business efficiencies and lean practices.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in one of the following STEM disciplines: Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, and Physics and 2+ years of engineering experience OR
  • Master’s degree in one of the following STEM disciplines: Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, and Physics. 
  • PhD in degree in STEM discipline
  • To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years of engine control systems design.
  • Experience with aerospace engine controls systems.
  • Experience of Systems and Software development lifecycle (V or W model), ideally with experience of working within an agile or waterfall software development project.
  • Experience of leading Aerospace programs / products through certification and introduction into service.
  • Good general IT skills with a strong understating MRP Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Excel, data warehouse systems and reporting tools.
  • The role will require an individual with a blend of analytical, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and project management skills.
