Position Summary

Position will be responsible for assisting with laboratory workflows in a research wet-lab setting. Performs PBMC isolation and research sample check-in within selected software under direction from supervisor, manager or higher-level technician.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conducts PBMC isolation inside a Biosafety Hood.
  • Conducts multiple sample check-in workflows utilizing Freezer Works software.
  • Performs DNA extraction from blood, cells or other human biological material.
  • Conducts Quality Control on samples utilizing NanoDrop, TapeStation, Qubit, etc.
  • Maintains sample integrity by utilizing current software for data entry.
  • Assures compliance with established safety procedures.
  • Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. 
  • Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

$16.54 - $22.35 / Hourly
