We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Supervisor to join our Supply Chain department. As the Inventory Control Supervisor, you will work with our Purchasing Manager, Plant Manager, Production Manager, and Inventory Control team to ensure that all inventory items are properly identified, recorded, and readily accessible when needed. You will also provide supervision and guidance to the Inventory Control team, passing along your knowledge and experience to help develop the team.

If you like what you've read so far, here's a closer look at the role of our Inventory Control Supervisor:

  • Perform daily inventory analysis; identify and resolve discrepancies, and communicate changes to relevant parties
  • Regularly review item locations and stock numbers for accuracy, update records in ERP as needed
  • Schedule and conduct frequent spot audits and periodic physical inventory audits
  • Manage and maintain inventory system within the ERP; work with Production Manager and ERP Manager to modify or upgrade inventory control system within the ERP
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports; identify items for which automatic, recurring delivery would be beneficial; provide copy of reports and recommendations to Purchasing Manager and Production Manager
  • Frequently communicate inventory status and potential problems with Purchasing Manager, Purchasing team, Production Manager, and Plant Manager
  • Supervise and oversee all activities of the Inventory Control team
  • Coordinate and lead year end physical inventory
  • Train subordinate employees with regard to work processes and procedures, company policies, and safety
  • Collaborate with Production Manager to evaluate performance of subordinate employees, and provide or coordinate additional training, coaching, or other resources as needed
  • Identify and notify Production Manager of departmental staffing needs
  • Work with Human Resources to and to resolve employee relations and disciplinary issues

This is an exempt (salaried) position in our Cerritos, CA facility. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Starting pay for this position is $70,000.00 annually.

Requirements

To be considered for the position, candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of related experience, including supply chain, inventory management systems, and forecasting
  • Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures
  • Fluent in written and verbal English, bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required
  • Able to perform basic mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Able to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
  • Able to understand and analyze data effectively
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
