About the Opportunity
The primary responsibility of a Behavior Specialist, Adventure Guide is to assist in Adventure Club event
coordination and management. In addition to the Adventure Club responsibilities, this role will also implement
consistent evidence-based mental health services and Applied Behavioral Analysis programs to clients with
Autism Spectrum Disorder and other co-morbid developmental disabilities in response to the recommendations
of the Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical Leader and Clinical Director in the home, school and/or other natural
settings.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in Adventure Club event management and planning including but not limited to:
- Coordinate upcoming Adventure Club event flyers, materials, and swag
- Coordinate set up and break down on site for Friday and Saturday Adventure Club events
- Manage Adventure Club attendance, both Behavior Specialists (Guides) and clients (Adventurers)
- Manage Adventure badges for participants
- Be knowledgeable on all types of sessions including in home, in center, telehealth and virtual sessions
- Conducts 100% of scheduled sessions, unless time-off has been granted or the parents of the client have
- communicated to the clinical team that they would not like for the hours to be provided.
- Responsible for conducting subbing sessions for other clients to sustain the productivity margin if a
- session is cancelled by the family. Subbing sessions will fall within the employee’s availability.
- Responsible for coordinating and conducting make-up sessions when canceling their own sessions.
- Additional hours or sessions may be assigned by the Clinical Leader and/or Regional Director.
- Implements individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Support Plans in response to the direction
- provided by the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical Leader and/or other clinical staff in order
- to improve the behavior and skill acquisition of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Travels to home and other community settings, as required, to deliver services.
- Renders completed sessions daily and writes thorough notes per CSD’s cancellation policy when changes
- occur.
- Communicates schedule changes and cancellations to clinical team immediately.
- Participates in regular meetings and promptly communicates with Clinical Leaders via email and phone,
- regarding Treatment Plans and Behavioral Support Plans, family concerns and questions.
- Fulfills the timely completion of necessary clinical documentation and communication of:
- Daily Treatment Session Notes
- Daily Treatment Target Data
- Daily (If applicable) Behavior Data
- Monthly Session Plans
- Ensures parent participation during sessions as deemed necessary by the Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical
- Leader and per the Treatment Plan. Under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical Leader
- provides parents with tools and materials to ensure the generalization of skills and the modification of
- challenging behavior.
- Keeps updated with other site-related documents and current clinical reports for each child served.
- Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in special education and related fields.
- Attends staff meetings, in-services, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
