Job Summary

The Produce Lead is responsible for overseeing produce operations, ensuring adherence to company policies, maintaining product quality and freshness, and optimizing inventory management. This role focuses on operational excellence, ensuring compliance with food safety, merchandising, and replenishment standards while supporting business performance. The Produce Lead does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but plays a critical role in ensuring smooth department operations. A valid ServSafe Food Safety CerƟficaƟon is required and must be maintained in good standing. BJ’s covers any applicable cost associated and training.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities 

Lead Produce Department Operations: Maintain produce freshness by executing regular culling and rotation, ensuring all products meet company quality standards.  Manage Inventory Proactively: Ensure proper product availability by monitoring inventory levels and executing timely replenishment to maintain in-stock conditions.  Demonstrates Full Proficiency: Execute operational functions of the department, including the ability to inspect, rotate, cull, and merchandise fresh produce to company standards.  Accurate Item Labeling: Ensure all items are accurately priced, labeled, and in compliance with company policies.  Analyze ProducƟon and Sales: Track and analyze sales, waste, and shrink data to idenƟfy opportuniƟ
