Responsibilities and Impact:
This position is key to maintaining our market relevance and meeting our transaction requirements. As a Grade 9 professional, you will contribute to team initiatives while taking accountability for individual targets. Specifically, in this role, you will:
Conducting in-depth research and preparing comprehensive documents and presentations for rating committees, demonstrating strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues
Attend rating committee meetings alongside senior analysts as assigned, actively participating and contributing towards team goals
Demonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria and financial statement analysis
Assist in the collection and analysis of data on special projects, resolving issues that are often varied and non-routine
Collaborating with analysts to publish periodic thought leadership articles
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in finance, accounting, economics, government/public policy, or similar field required
1+ years of relevant work experience in finance, analysis, or related field
Demonstrated interest in local government operations and municipal finance
Strong work ethic and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, including cash flow and credit models
Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients
Outstanding proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of programming languages and data analytics, as well as experience with AI and automation tools that enhance efficiency, is a plus
Willingness to learn through both formal training and hands-on experience, adaptability to handle changing priorities and complex situations, and creativity to bring innovativ
