The Military Student Services Team Lead is responsible for assisting the Military Student Services Manager oversee the duties of the Military Financial Aid Advisers and File Administrators in the department. As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration as well be a source of knowledge and training.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Educate and assist team members in their work of assisting students and parents in securing federal and alternative funding for tuition, while promoting a positive service experience
- Communicate with students and families to assess needs relating to financial aid and VA benefits
- Monitor calls for consistent and thorough financial aid counseling
- Monitor reports for timeliness and accuracy in financial aid packaging
- Assist team members in research and developing a plan to best assist the student
- Assist in motivation of team
- Reporting team metrics, evaluations, and trends to management
- Maintain current knowledge of all Title IV regulations and institutional policies, as well as enforcing college, state, and federal policies

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of three years of financial aid experience required
- Must be in good standing in all Federal Title IV programs and remain current with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations
Computer/Equipment Skills:
- Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook and comfortable with technology
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds. This position requires sitting for long periods of time at a workstation and computer. Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule and work a 40 hour work week that may include some overtime, nights, and weekends.
