This is a hgh impact and complex role that will require the individual to interface with technology, audit, risk management and operations teams regularly.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive Platform Specialist for to join the TDS Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will support our engineering team in navigating a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring that our data platform complies with audit and risk governance standards and controls. You will play a key role in managing cross-functional initiatives, interpreting enterprise and regulatory standards and policies, and directly supporting risk management and audit deliverables.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Confidence and ability to navigate complex processes, oversee and work independently on a variety of initiatives end-to-end requiring specialist knowledge
- Talent in quickly developing trust in cross-functional relationships, willingness in providing guidance and influencing multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains
- Keen focus on problem solving and ability to quickly learn technical details of data platform’s applications, configurations, and workflows
- Desire in driving changes and shaping the future of how TDS Data Platform operates
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering teams in the completion of audit and compliance deliverables, ensuring that risks are identified, tracked, and mitigated, and all deadlines are met
- Interpret and apply governance standards, regulatory policies, and procedures, translating them into actionable tasks for engineering teams. Provide guidance to engineering leads and senior stakeholders on how to integrate governance controls into the data platform architecture and workflows
- Develop deep familiarity with the platform’s applications, configurations, and workflows to identify areas that require improvement or additional controls
- Support implementation and post-implementation planning and activities.
- Collaborate with audit and risk management teams to ensure that all controls and governance requirements are properly documented and fulfilled
- Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders including engineering, compliance, and auditors to ensure smooth execution of platform initiatives.
- Lead, facilitate or actively generate action and remediation plans that address performance, risk and governance issues.
- Facilitate regular check-ins and progress updates, ensuring clear communication across teams and partners
- Advocate for TDS Data Platform team and manage relationships with Enterprise and risk and governance partners
- Own your reputation as a subject matter expert by identifying risk and providing guidance for complex situations.
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technology trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
- Continuously enhance knowledge of TD Securities business domains and their products/services
- Drive operational excellence in Data Platform and Analytics by grounding strategic initiatives in line with governance and control requirements
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
- Graduate degree is an asset
- 7+ years relevant experience
