Your impact

Handshake is excited to announce cyber-security internships for students aspiring to pursue a career in security and IT. In this role, you will grow and develop your skills as a security operations engineer and have the opportunity to contribute to the security and privacy posture of the company. Our program is tailored around your learning and development. Here are some of the projects you might dig into during your internship:

• Review and respond to security-related inquiries from employees, customers, and visitors to the Handshake platform. 
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive security operations tasks by interviewing members of the security and engineering teams. 
• Create workflows to streamline granting and revoking access to critical applications for users based on their roles and responsibilities. 
• Develop security focused tests for critical applications and features built at Handshake. 

Your Experience:

• Have deep interest in building secure tools.
• You are passionate about the quality and user experience of the things you build.
• You have a healthy appetite for automation, testing and building robust distributed systems.
• You are comfortable learning on the job and enjoy interacting with people. 
• Have experience in coding, scripting, and working with APIs. 

Technologies you’ll work with:

• Ruby on Rails, Python, Javascript 
• Google Cloud Platform, Okta workflows, Github
• Slack, Datadog, Linear, JIRA

Compensation range

• $7,840 Per Month

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
