We are searching for a Plant Industrial Engineering, Maintenance and Asset Manager to join our team at High Concrete in Denver, PA.
The Plant Industrial Engineering, Maintenance and Asset Manager will be responsible to plan organize, direct and control plant engineering and maintenance operations to provide safe and efficient facilities management, plant/manufacturing equipment maintenance, fleet vehicle maintenance, and asset management. Acts as the Continuous Improvement manager to direct the division's industrial engineering efforts.
This is a 1st Shift, Monday-Friday position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supports HCG operations management environmental, health, and safety programs with the goal of an incident-free workplace while conducting all activities in accordance with all applicable federal (OSHA), state and local laws and regulations. Works in conjunction with the Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Department and provides information as required to comply with governmental regulations and company standards.
- Manages the work of department staff on a daily basis to accomplish business objectives as required, most importantly preventive maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facilities. Assesses needs and works with staff to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiencies.
- Responsible for $10M+ in total expense and capital spend annually. Rationalizes needs as required to mitigate unneeded spend while meeting operational objectives.
- Establishes and executes short and long-term engineering/maintenance plans addressing equipment requirements, method improvements, and utility/energy efficiency in keeping with continuous improvement projects and manufacturing objectives to include asset management.
- Manages and leads industrial engineering efforts to improve operating performance, reduce waste (time and materials), and/or increase throughput. Project champions may come from other departments yet project management through successful turnover to the project champion resides with this manager.
- Prepares capital appropriation requests and other project materials for management review. Leads the execution of most capital projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, SAP applications, CMMS software, and project management software.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attends various meetings, training seminars and special courses, etc. as directed by the VP of Operations.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Demonstrated competence in leading maintenance and trades personnel.
- Proven skills in determining equipment specifications, maintenance and installation needs.
- The ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills required with the ability to build and maintain relationships and interact effectively with other departments and locations.
- Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing to explain complex ideas and concepts for the purpose of driving improvement
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes/techniques
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Strong project management skills and leadership for those managing projects
LICENSE, CERTIFICATES OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related subject required. MBA desired.
- A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing maintenance and facilities management work experience preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of lean manufacturing project leadership from inception to execution to handoff to the project owner.
- Formal lean certification training or willingness to acquire post-hire
- 10-hour OSHA Course Certification or willingness to acquire post hire.
