SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Physical Therapist develops and implements rehabilitation programs to help patients return to a higher level of physical function, increase mobility, and reduce pain. The therapist will assist with management of degenerative conditions and chronic pain patients. The therapist will help patients through a combination of physical activity, reflexology, massage, muscular, and skeletal manipulation. This position will also provide care for our Fort Smith and Fayetteville patients needing Physical Therapy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations in accordance with organizational policy and Arkansas law.
- Develops plan of treatment for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement.
- Implements treatment plan on a consistent schedule and adjusts this schedule and plan according to patient progress.
- Documents patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.
- Evaluates mobility, strength, and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable.
- Reports patient progress to patient, patient caregivers, and facility staff and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment of patients.
- Develops a plan for patients following completion of their treatment plan with appropriate in-home care services.
- Monitors effectiveness of medication treatment, develops plan of care and provide education for patients and family members.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
- Assists other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly, and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy.

o Follow proper reporting procedures for actual or potential accidents and/or incidents so follow up and/or prevention can occur.
· Record/report the need for service maintenance or repair of equipment and remove any faulty equipment from service.
· Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet client expectations.
· Take initiative to do to redo inadequate or incomplete work, even if it is not yours.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
· Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
· Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of the company (education, organizing, housekeeping, assisting others).
· Organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
· Consistently demonstrate ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision.

· Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness.
