This is a highly responsible independent position that serves as part of the Agency’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Team.
This position will work primarily in the field assessing facilities for emergency preparedness and will travel to areas of impact when incidents occur working with local partners and conducting training as needed.
This position has extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to emergency preparedness and is responsible for conducting survey work and outreach related to emergency management for State programs.
This position has been identified as mission essential.
The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays.
In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
Emergency work may involve the incumbent to work in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work.
Emergency duties may include, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
Specific duties include:
Conducts outreach to providers and other stakeholders related to emergency planning and response as directed.
This includes emergency preparedness surveys, generator monitoring, post-incident assessments, as well as onsite revisits and desk review revisits.
Reports of findings will be completed within the assigned timeframe, following standardized documentation requirements.
Performs training for providers and surveyors.
This will include provision of training regarding emergency management principles, Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan requirements, AHCA Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), and other training as directed by AHCA management.
Assists with development of emergency preparedness and response training and training tools and performs training for Agency staff to assist with preparedness and response activities.
Participate in meetings.
This may include AHCA staff meetings, provider or association meetings, as well as health care coalition meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time-critical.
The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time.
Leave must be requested in advance except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.
