Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to serve as a Pharmacy Technician located at Dixon Correctional Center. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, task oriented, has excellent organizational skills, and shows great attention to detail. Duties will include performing various pharmacy-related tasks to help maintain pharmacy efficiency and organization. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.
Essential Functions
- Under direct line supervision of the Health Care Unit Administrator (Public Service Administrator) and under direct supervision of a contractual registered pharmacist, performs professional work in the delivery of pharmacy services.
- Maintains individual in custody medication profiles and individual in custody prescription records.
- Cleans and maintains pharmacy equipment and maintains a safe and sanitary area.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
- Requires Illinois registration as a registered certified pharmacy technician.*
- Must be at least 18 years of age.*
*These stated requirements are in accordance with the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act. (225 ILCS 85/).
