This position is responsible for inventory control in the maintenance shop, receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous receivers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Establishes operational procedures such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
    • Inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment.
    • Prepares materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement.
    • Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
    • Salvages damaged or used material and/or its disposal.
    • Check all hand tools weekly, report problems, and replace them as needed.
    • Check all issued equipment (including hand and portable power tools), and ensure they are inspected and replaced when needed. Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal.
    • Ability to safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area or for parts and/or supply delivery.
    • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    • Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues.
    • Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
