Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To support the Individual Giving and Engagement Team (IGET) in raising and growing support from high-capacity individual philanthropists through management of a small portfolio of donors, developing and implementing an engagement and growth strategy for Oxfam America’s Leadership Council, stewarding and managing select restricted gifts from individual donors, and providing coordination and planning support for IGET and RD level events and initiatives.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 major donors to increase retention and identify upgrade prospects in collaboration with Senior Prospect Researcher, Senior Midlevel Giving Officer and IGET Relationship Managers (RM’s). Work collaboratively with RMs to identify, create and implement a suite of touchpoints focused on deepening donor commitment to Oxfam.
  • Develop cultivation strategies that incorporate creative, blended asks in consultation with Planned Giving Officer.
  • Lead process for communicating to and soliciting Oxfam board members for annual gifts in coordination with IGET Project Manager, Board Chair, Philanthropy Officers, and Vice-President of Resource Development.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with donors and prospects, prepare correspondence and proposals and ensure annual requests for support are presented to all donors and prospects.
  • Develop and implement a stewardship and engagement strategy for Oxfam America's Leadership Council, including planning a regular cadence of outreach from the CEO and other senior leadership, virtual and in-person events, and reactive updates. Work closely with the Senior Resource Development Officer to develop messaging from the CEO and content for events that informs deeply, builds connections, and inspires action with this critical group of supporters.
  • Serve as a member of the core team for planning the annual Leadership Council event. Provide support as needed across an array of event planning areas to include - coordinating with vendors, invitations, site identification, event logistics and communications, and program development.
  • Support development and ongoing implementation of Oxfam’s Donor Advised Fund (DAF), Community Foundation and Philanthropy Advisor strategies to deepen relationships and raise awareness among key funding vehicles and philanthropy decision makers.
  • Provide support for developing proposals, grant management, and donor stewardship for a small portfolio of grants from individuals and small family foundations. Manage proposal and reporting deadlines, fund administration, coordinate with program teams to gather content, and review and edit draft proposals and reports. Coordinate with the Donor Relations Associate and finance teams on grant administration and financial oversight.
  • Provide support for donor trips, coffee breaks, webinars and other donor engagement vehicles.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of routine work such as gift acknowledgements, solicitation and cultivation mailings, event invitations, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data entry, and database coding of gifts.
  • Understand and comply with all Oxfam America gift-related policies and procedures to ensure ethical compliance, as defined by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
