Job Description:
As a member of the senior management team, the John Muir Health Physician Practices (JMHPP) Executive Director, Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition is a subject matter expert in Primary Care and is responsible for the management of primary care operations, care transition and programmatic development. The Executive Director (ED), Primary Care Practice Operations and Care Transition is accountable for the performance of high-quality practice operations across all practice locations within their designated specialty. The ED, Primary Care Practice Operations and Care Transition works in partnership with the Vice President of Practice Operations, Performance Improvement team, peer Executive Director team, and physician leadership to provide operational direction and administrative leadership to promote cross-continuum collaboration and access to necessary programs across specialty locations in a safe and secure manner for each patient. The ED oversees provider, patient and staff experience in partnership with their dedicated physician dyad. The ED Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition drives industry leading performance by implementing budgetary, operational, and strategic plans for all primary care divisions including pediatrics, adult medicine, and urgent care. The ED Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition provides input into ambulatory strategy development, specifically for specialty and service line strategies for growth and operational improvements. Day-to-Day operational responsibilities are delegated to the directors and practice site managers while overall standards and practice excellence expectations are set and communicated by the ED. The ED Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition Care is responsible for driving practice adherence to policies and procedures, including the quality and safety programs and other areas of compliance. The ED drives metric based financial and clinical performance with course correction activities. The ED Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition facilitates a high performing practice management staff by providing regular feedback on performance, and providing the Directors and Practice Managers with resources for professional development and training. They will also adhere to the Human Resources performance review process. Scope of this position includes facilitating operations of designated primary care practices in conjunction with foundation based medical group leadership and joint venture partnerships.The ED, Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition reports to the JMHPP Vice President, Practice Operations. The ED, Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition is responsible for productive relationships with a wide range of organizational stakeholders including executive directors, directors, practice managers and system wide executive directors and performance improvement team. The ED, Primary Care Practice Operations & Care Transition will also manage Joint Venture relationships by acting as the key point of contact for JV leadership and delegates day-to-day operational duties to primary care directors. Direct reports will be the Directors of Adult Medicine, Director of Pediatrics, Regional Manager of Urgent Care and Regional Manager of Hospitalist Services.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Required
Experience:
7 years Management - Progressive Leadership in an Ambulatory/Physician Practice with a focus on Primary Care - Required
Team Building - Required
Change Management - Required
Working with Physicians, Building Strong and Trusting Relationships with Physician Leaders – Required
Additional Experience Requirements:
Strong operations management experience in leading Cardiology or specialty-specific practices with greater than 25 physicians - Preferred
Certifications/Licensures:
A continuous learner who can demonstrate competencies as outlined in the medical practice Body of Knowledge through professional achievement in attaining Certification/Fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (Medical Group Management Association), and/or in American College of Healthcare Executives - Preferred
Lean Six Sigma Certification - Preferred
MBA, MHA, MPH, NP, PA, or other related graduate degree - Preferred
Skills:
