Overview
The Sr. Finance Manager, Supply Chain directs all financial activities for the North America Supply Chain organization, including distribution, transportation, customer care and supply planning. The role is the critical point of all financial activities and analytics supporting these teams in North America for monthly actuals and quarterly forecasts.

This position is responsible for continuous improvement efforts throughout the financial reporting/planning cycle. This includes the production of adhoc and reoccurring analytical financial reports and customer freight decision support for the transportation team. Also, the position will provide key financial support for major supply chain initiatives including the RDC network optimization, Warehouse Management System reconfiguration, Transportation Management System KPI development and integration of the Labor Management System.
The position will support financial reporting and planning activities for North America for all warehouse locations (owned and under 3PL management) and freight costs across the network and to customer locations.
Responsibilities
Annual Business Plan and Quarterly Forecasts
- Contribute to the North America operations business plan and quarterly forecasts for the company through data gathering and consolidating various inputs from cross-functional teams
Prepare Monthly Reporting and Variance Analysis
- Prepare and review monthly reporting results vs prior expectations with commentary of major business drivers (variance analysis vs PY, Plan, Forecast)
- Distribute regular occurring KPI reports and analytics to be shared with stakeholders
- Work with 3rd Party logistics providers to understand major business drivers on monthly reported results and identify areas of cost improvements
All Other Activities
- Work with VP Finance, Operations Controller to develop North American financial business support model to supply chain organization
- Month-end support for closing activities (journal entry review and approval) related to distribution and transportation costs
- Prepare monthly variance analysis on transactional level detail by account to find anomalies month over month in freight and warehouse cost buckets
- Prepare monthly trend analysis across supply chain metrics
- Assist in corporate transactions (e.g., M&A, financing activities, etc.) as requested
- Other ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by Leadership Team members
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA a plus
- 8-10 years of accounting / finance experience preferably supporting manufacturing and supply chain organizations and 2-3 years within FP&A; knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting/planning and forecasting concepts and processes
- CPG experience desired
- Experience in a matrixed manufacturing or supply chain organization supporting functional stakeholders and commercial business partners
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated business partnership skills
Computer Skills:
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills
- Planning (i.e. TM1/PA, Sievo,) and Reporting (IBM Planning Analytics, Power BI)
Key Competencies:
- Tracking actual distribution and transportation variances against budget (reporting), Driving Financial Planning/Forecasting (planning), Statistical Analysis (analysis)
- Financial and Business Analytics Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results
- Experience with a Transportation Management System and utilizing KPIs to drive freight cost improvements
- Distribution and transportation experience with a good understanding of warehouse performance and variance reporting concepts
- Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effectiv
