Software Engineer II (Backend, E-Commerce)

We are looking to add highly motivated skilled engineers to our team to help us scale and take our proven system to new heights.  As a Backend Software Engineer joining the WHOOP e-commerce platform team, you will develop the core infrastructure responsible for both order fulfillment and subscription management. You will work closely with our systems team to ensure our integrations are scalable, maintainable, and adaptive to the global market. This role requires a strong knowledge of backend architecture and API design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help execute WHOOP's vision to build/scale an ecommerce platform that allows WHOOP to offer memberships and accessories to our members
• Contribute to backend development: Java, AWS and Postgres
• Interface with e-commerce platforms: CommerceTools and Stripe
• Work collaboratively in a business growth environment with a product and technical vision
• Consistently deliver features and code with an iterative approach

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working on large scale software systems
• Experience in API design and development (Java preferred)
• Experience in relational database design and development (SQL)
• Strong skills translating design specifications into fully functional applications
• Positive attitude and ownership mentality
• Strong communication skills to work both collaboratively and independently

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
