About the role
Job Description
The Manager, Strategic Planning is responsible for strategy development and execution of the Sales Support groups’ business initiatives and providing strategic business planning support for the General Manager Sales Support:
- Support General Manager in the organization and running of the business (Sales Support initiatives, staff meetings, budget planning, portfolio/business planning, special assignments, etc.)
- Support and provide input into the budget development process based on Annual Plans and communicated targets, including annual and midyear report preparation
- Facilitate the Quarterly Accounting Review for Sales Support, and provide reporting to Finance
- Responsible for contract negotiation and management of key supplier (CVI) contract delivering retail network advisory and analytics services cross-functionally (Sales Support, RSMS, CCA, Fleet, GCCX)
- Contributor to the annual IT Portfolio Planning process, coordinating, and assisting in prioritization of PPM’s associated with the CVI contract working with the various business units: 1) Maintain the project business cases (deliverables, benefits, timing); 2) Analyze and report out on key portfolio projects and targets including balancing priorities, business benefits, and capacity/demand
- Identify and/or nurture third party competitors that enable business objectives and problem solving.
- Act as business facing liaison to the Chief Data Analysis Office (CDAO) and to Information Technology teams in developing insourced and vendor provided solutions.
- Coordinate and manage GMs participation in NADA annual events: Annual Conferences; Winter/Summer Surveys; Survey Feedback Meetings
- Experience working with senior officers of a company and confidential informatoin
- Experience or ability to quickly learn SharePoint
- Experience working with external virtual platform vendors
The Manager, Strategic Planning will support other related NADA activities as needed; developing working sessions, session content, invitations, coordinating travel and accommodations, tracking participation, troubleshooting participant issues, and managing the spend/budget:
- Optimize the reports / tools used in the delivery of key sales reports and metrics
- Eliminate report redundancy, duplication and validate the need of request by the business units
- Leverage existing tools previously developed by GMIT through its in-sourcing efforts
- Develop, collect, and analyze key operating metrics for the group (as needed)
- Manage / Plan for special projects and initiatives as identified by General Manager Sales Support
- Develop and conduct presentations for all levels of management as requested by General Manager Sales Support
Qualifications:
- Bachelors required in Business, Management or related areas; Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of Project Management experience required
- 7 + years of experience managing budgets required
- Experience with field performance and objective processes required
- Demonstrable ability to understand business concepts, including the ability to critically evaluate and create project plans
- Strong knowledge of process mapping required
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Excel, etc. required
- Experience using data visualization such as Power BI
- High level of presentation skills both in the development and delivery of presentation
- Ability to manage or lead small team including development and performance management
- Team-oriented collaborator with cross-functional team leadership skills
- Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
- Ability to focus on and meet assigned deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizing & planning skills to coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks
- High level of interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities
- High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
