Position Summary: The JCCC Metal Fabrication Department is seeking a welding educator to teach courses in Oxyacetylene brazing, cutting, and welding; Plasma Arc Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Blueprint Reading, Metallurgy, and other welding classes.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in some of the following:
Oxyacetylene cutting, braze welding, and welding
Plasma Arc cutting and gouging
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (plate, pipe) 1F-4F, 1G-4G
Gas Metal Arc Welding (plate, pipe) 1F-4F, 1G-4G
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (plate, pipe) 1F-4F, 1G-4G
Blueprint and symbol reading
Metallurgy - American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector with 7 years welding industry experience
OR - American Welding Society Certified Welding Educator with 7 years welding industry experience
OR - Associates degree with 5 years welding industry experience.
- Knowledge of safety in the metal fabrication industry.
- Ability to teach entry-level welding skills using lecture, demonstration and lab activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with 3 years welding experience.
- AWS CWI/CWE certifications
- Oxyacetylene cutting, braze welding, and welding
- Plasma Arc cutting and gouging
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (plate, pipe) 5G, 6G
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (plate, pipe) 5G, 6G
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (plate, pipe) 5G, 6G

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
Teaching – Faculty members are expected to be effective teachers and excel in course instruction. Listed below are the minimum expectations of faculty who teach at JCCC.

- Provide students constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback. Evaluate student learning by creating and applying course competencies and accurately evaluating student progress.
- Strive to increase teaching effectiveness through the application of appropriate teaching and learning strategies; evaluate student learning and modify instructional methods and strategies as appropriate to meet diverse student needs.
- Effective teaching communicates successfully. Effective teaching clearly articulates high, achievable, and purposeful expectations. Effective teaching adeptly guides meaningful course activities, allowing students to advance their knowledge or skill. As a result, faculty members are expected to do the following:
