The Senior Data Coordinator works within a multidisciplinary team that supports oncology clinical trials conducted at the Fred Hutch/University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Cancer Consortium. The position is responsible for collecting and abstracting clinical data from medical records and research charts, ensuring data quality and timeliness. The team supports a large and diverse portfolio of clinical trials, and this position will work in close collaboration with faculty, providers, and research staff across multiple disease areas. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Clinical Trials Coordination you will be part of the Breast Oncology, Genitourinary Medical Oncology, GI,  or other specialized Oncology clinical research teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to obtain, abstract, and code complex clinical information from multiple sources (medical records, research records, etc.) for research subjects. Code and record said information into various study-specific data-capture systems (both electronic and paper-based).
  • Resolve and answer data queries with minimal errors.
  • Maintain computer spreadsheets and databases for research studies.
  • Understand research study flow, work with clinic staff support services and research team members to set-up research subject appointments at required intervals.
  • Assist with development of study-specific or program data acquisition forms.
  • Work professionally with research coordinator and sponsor representatives to review and correct data recorded in the case report forms.
  • Request medical records from outside medical facilities.
  • Collate and maintain clinical information from multiple sources into research charts, study binders, etc.
  • Independently tracks and maintain research subject schedules based on complex protocol-specific requirements.
  • May assist Research Coordinators and CRS Program Administrator in ensuring proper billing of research charges.
  • May interact with patients to collect data, such as to conduct follow-up assessments via telephone as needed per protocol for data collection purposes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS, RRA, ART, or two year degree in the medical field. 
  • Three years of experience in medical records, cancer registry, or related field. 
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with databases. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CCRP or CCRC accreditation
  • 3 years’ experience in clinical research
  • Knowledge of statistics.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task, organize and prioritiz
