Job Description
The Patient Service Rep reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
This position will have comprehensive knowledge of CPG patients' needs and will work in partnership with the physicians and clinical staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of care. This role will field patient phone calls, work toward resolving problems and update all demographic and insurance information. This position performs scheduling, medical record documentation and clerical functions in an accurate and timely manner, delivering the highest level of customer service over the phone and in person.
Description and Types of Patients: Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists are board-certified obstetricians who are specially trained in diagnosing, treating and managing high-risk pregnancies. Their scope encompasses specialty care for underlying medical concerns or past outcome that could complicate pregnancies, from pre-conception through delivery.
Age of patients served: Woman of childbearing age.
Procedures/Services: The Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinic specialists provide compassionate care for expectant mothers who have a variety of medical conditions offering consultation and diagnostics procedures including: amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, chorionic villus sampling, diagnostic 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound, fetal echocardiogram, fetal therapy, genetic testing, and preterm birth risk screening. Maternal Fetal Medicine partners with The Fetal Cardiology Program, part of the Heart Center and The Chicago Institute for Fetal Health at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Hours of Operation: The MFM clinic is open Monday – Friday from 08am to 4:30pm.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to type 35-40 wpm
Preferred:
- Minimum one year of medical office experience
- Previous experience with health insurance paid billing
- Second language proficiency
- ICD9 and CPT knowledge
