About the role

This role will expose you to everything accounting in a company with global impact and is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for Dune’s day-to-day finance operations. You will review the work of external accountants, manage expense and travel systems, support our accountants, and maintain strong internal controls.

Because we are a small team, you will get significant exposure to many different aspects of finance and operations. This includes opportunities to contribute to treasury management, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional projects. You will also have a real chance to shape and improve financial processes as we scale — with a focus on automation, use of AI tools, and modern reporting platforms.

Dune has an important year ahead of us. You will be a key part of ensuring compliance, maintaining accurate records, and building scalable operations as we continue our journey to make crypto data accessible.

In this role you will:

• Contribute to overseeing accounting activities and implementing the systems needed for effective management accounting and reporting;
  Work closely with external accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance, by reviewing filings and bookings and performing reconciliations;
  Operate finance ops processes, including but not restricted to invoice management, employee expenses, and travel reimbursements;

• Manage personnel expense and travel systems and keep related policies up to date;

• Continuously refine and improve internal processes and controls;

• Contribute to company-wide financial reporting and investor-facing materials;

• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools

• Support and gain exposure to treasury management activities;

• Jump in on ad-hoc analysis and cross-functional finance projects, with a focus on automation and leveraging AI for efficiency.

Minimum requirements to succeed in this role

• Have 3+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or finance operations;

• Have strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with reporting tools

• Have excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles and controls;

• Are proactive, self-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with varied challenges;

• Are interested in automation of finance processes and curious about applying AI tools to streamline workflows;

• Are excited by the opportunity to grow in a small team where you can take on broad responsibilities and make a tangible impact.

Not required but a plus if you:

• Have startup work experience;

• Have an interest in blockchain technology and the crypto ecosystem or web3 accounting experience;

• Have experience at tech companies with SaaS and/or API business models;

• Have implemented or optimized expense/travel management systems.
