What you will be doing:
- Define the vision and drive the development of advanced AI and machine learning models that power Intermedia’s AI Platform.
- Provide strategic direction on the use of AI across Intermedia products, including voice, chat, unified communications, and contact center services.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance data science solutions with measurable impact.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to influence roadmaps, technical direction, and model strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve model performance, scalability, and operational efficiency across multiple teams and initiatives.
- Mentor and coach senior data scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, reproducibility, and best practices in AI/ML.
- Own cross-functional initiatives involving high data complexity and ambiguity, shaping them into executable projects.
- Promote and implement best practices in experimentation, version control, model monitoring, and responsible AI.
- Stay at the forefront of AI research and emerging technologies, driving adoption where they can create business impact.
- Represent Intermedia’s AI capabilities internally and externally, including thought leadership and participation in conferences.
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; PhD preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI-focused roles, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions.
- Deep expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and advanced ML/AI techniques (NLP, Generative AI, Large Language Models, optimization).
- Strong programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages.
- Expertise in data engineering, pipelines, and distributed data systems (SQL, NoSQL, big data platforms).
- Strong background in experimentation, causal inference, and statistical modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy and align AI initiatives with business objectives.
- Proven experience mentoring senior technical talent and shaping organizational AI culture.
- Excellent communication skills, able to adapt messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
- Recognized thought leader in AI/ML with external contributions (publications, talks, or patents) a plus.
