Job Summary:

 

  • Under the general direction of the Director, Global Logistics & Distribution, the Sr. Manager, Logistics is responsible for the performance, execution, and improvement of West’s Global Distribution strategy; for the Phoenix Tier One 3PL warehouse supporting all PHX Operations. The position will, implement, and lead local distribution scope & multi-plant support (raw materials, WIP (Work in Progress), SFG’s and designated FG’s inventory at West 3PL distribution centers), The Sr. Manager, Logistics will oversee the implementation of new 3PLs in the network, and will provide oversight of and assistance for plant-based and customer-based Logistics support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for managing local relationship between West and 3PL provider including all WH operations, safety, inbound, outbound, inventory control, plant support operations, & budget responsibility
  • Monitor, improve and sustain local Logistics performances metrics to meet or exceed targets.
  • Reinforce overall local Logistics performance and process efficiency to meet customer needs.
  • Create and publish local Logistics KPIs and performance reports.
  • Align with peer groups and obtain endorsement of improvement priorities and implementation plans
  • Responsible for project management and execution for Local Logistics process improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement programs and projects that benefit or impact Logistics business processes.
  • Represent Local Logistics during Health Authority, Security, Quality, Customer, and other related audits. Prepare audit responses and implement corrective action plans
  • Lead annual risk assessment and business continuity plans with Security, Quality, etc.
  • Develop and maintain Logistics SOPs/Work Practices
  • Implement change management process and controls for Local Logistics business processes.
  • Implement and/or leverage systems and technology to simplify, improve productivity, and enable predictivity of Logistics planning & operations, and external Logistics operations.
  • Monitor internal and external industry trends and translate to the West business, as applicable
  • Strong collaboration to create a culture of high performance
  • Ability and experience to build strong partnership with peer groups and departments between Local Logistics and Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality and Plant Operations
  • Required to create Local Warehousing Internal Compliance Review program for West DC’s in accordance with CPTAP, OSHA and West internal standards.
  • Required to implement and lead Monthly Operational Reviews for all Local Logistics sites. Must include key internal and external business partners with a robust agenda and key KPIs.
  • Required to lead monthly inventory review meeting with key internal members for all West Local Logistics owned DCs.
  • Experience developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and customer success, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Manage for Results - Manage inventory levels and ensure robust cycle counting programs leading to accuracy of inventory records.
  • Warehouse Responsibilities and Processes lead on any West required RACI projects.
