The Opportunity

The Senior Associate, Institutional Marketing plays a hands-on role in executing Hamilton Lane’s institutional marketing strategy. This role is responsible for owning the planning, coordination and activation of thought leadership‑led marketing initiatives, ensuring investment insights are intentionally deployed across paid and owned channels to engage institutional audiences, advance prospects through the funnel and support Sales priorities. The Senior Associate, Institutional Marketing ensures campaign content is purpose‑built, performance‑driven and tightly aligned to fundraising objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Campaign Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end content campaign workflow by managing execution, timelines, approvals and activation of content across multiple formats.
  • Establish clear objectives, target audiences, messaging frameworks and activation plans for each major marketing initiative.
  • Execute integrated campaigns across email, web, paid advertising and social media, ensuring cohesive deployment across touchpoints.

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Define and track KPIs tied to awareness, engagement, lead generation and funnel progression, using insights to continuously optimize campaigns.
  • Leverage performance data to inform optimizations, improve conversion and refine audience segmentation across the institutional funnel.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Investments, Sales and Compliance to ensure campaign content is accurate, on‑brand and aligned with firmwide priorities.
  • Partner with Private Wealth Marketing, Event Marketing, Digital Marketing and Creative Services to optimize integration and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, advising on structure and format based on campaign goals and audience needs.

Operational Excellence & Content Governance

  • Support execution of the institutional editorial calendar, aligning content timing with fundraising milestones.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum and quality in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Continuously refine processes to improve efficiency, clarity and scalability of content production and activation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, content strategy or related roles, preferably within asset management, alternatives or financial services
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic content that supports marketing campaigns and business objectives
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities with precision
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, process-oriented, proactive and able to handle multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills; responsive and flexible to evolving responsibilities and dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of CRMs, marketing automation, web analytics, SEO and SEM skills a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with campaign workflows and digital distribution a plus
