The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Procurement and Sourcing Specialist:

The Procurement and Sourcing Specialist will lead strategic sourcing activities for multiple categories. This role requires a skilled and experienced strategic sourcing expert with a background in conducting sourcing events across a variety of categories. The Procurement and Sourcing Specialist will act as a strategic business partner to the business, supporting various functional area teams with their sourcing needs as they arise by analyzing the supply market, conducting competitive bid procedures and RFx events, and facilitating proposal evaluation and supplier selection. This position reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute strategic sourcing events/RFx efficiently and in line with the functional area procurement and operations timeline. Lead the execution of the end-to-end process from bidder identification through scoring and award recommendation, acting as the primary procurement business partner to the functional area lead/team. 
• Develop negotiation strategies, as appropriate for the goods or services being sourced. Drive favorable terms and conditions into the contracting process and develop opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation through the sourcing and contracting processes. 
• Work cross-functionally to incorporate requirements from enabling functional areas including finance, sustainability, risk, technology, and impact. 

Background & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing execution  
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in conducting a variety of RFx and competitive bidding events 
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities. 
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., Workday Strategic Sourcing, Excel)
