Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS

Responsible for implementation of our Student Services, Career Profile Path, Orientation and Mobility Training and Adult Work Experience, in accordance with program design and vending standards making adjustments and corrections as related to delivery of services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-- Oversees recruiting of potential work experience placements and the identification of appropriate work experience opportunities for both Students and Adults.

-- Assist Student/Adult with filling out employment documents.

-- Prepares paperwork necessary for individual to begin work experience opportunity

-- Assists with obtaining timesheets

-- Acts as a liaison between the organization and employer

-- Prepares initial assessments and makes recommendations for admission to the program

-- Short-term support for the Student/Adult should it be necessary or when no natural supports are available.

-- Provides services to Student for Job Exploration Counseling, Postsecondary Counseling, Self-Advocacy Training and/or Workplace Readiness Training

-- Provide training to individuals in the skills and supports necessary to function independently at work, home or the community.

-- Develop a systematic plan of instruction for supports to acquire functional living skills necessary to support an outcome of employment.

-- Coordinates the use of appropriate learning environments for individuals

-- Has the flexibility in work schedule to meet the needs of the clients

-- Ensures work/learning environment are safe and orderly

-- Develops an individualized Individual Service Plan (ISP) for each service provided

-- Maintains individual files and ensures files meet organization, funders, and accrediting standards

-- Applies behavior modification programs

-- Prepares appropriate reports necessary for billing and documenting individual progress

-- Promotes EXCEED in the community and to other agencies

-- Attends and participates in assigned meetings

-- May represent the agency at functions

-- May be required to provide transportation to individuals

-- Other related duties as assigned


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

-- 21 years or older

-- Valid California Driver's License

-- Acceptable driving record, state required auto insurance and reliable transportation

-- Must have a thorough understanding of the work environment and general business practices

-- Organization skills and ability to work independently

-- Ability to interface with the public

-- Flexibility in hours

-- High school diploma required; some college preferred

-- Experience in social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or other social service field; or five years’ experience within a related field

-- Must be experienced with Gmail, Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

-- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time

-- Dexterity and coordination for handling, fingering, feeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, climbing, balancing, stooping, directing, crouching, crawling while training individuals - all of these activities could be involved at any job site

-- Ability to tolerate extremes in temperature

-- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

-- Ability to interpret non-verbal cues and observe job requirements and identify potential safety hazards

-- Communicate effectively, verbally, by telephone and in writing

MENTAL ABILITIES

-- Must have a personable and professional attitude and able to work effectively in a community setting without direct supervision

-- An understanding of various business protocols and the ability to convey these practices to our consumers

-- Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects

-- Must be able to respect the confidentiality or information regarding consumers served and deal efficiently with the needs of adults with disabilities

-- Must be highly organized and also able to work with others

-- Capacity to interpret instructions and communicate to individuals

-- Good judgment to advocate, recognize safety hazards and apply appropriate behavior modification techniques


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

-- Reports to Options Explored Manager

POSITION CLASSIFICATION

-- Non-Exempt

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

-- Monday through Friday and some weekends, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or flexible schedule as needed


Wage rate: $20.48-$22.57 depending on experience and qualification
