Seasonal Turf Operator - Evergreen FS - Bloomington, IL

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Custom Turf is seeking a high energy, self-starter with a strong work ethic to join our team as a Turf Specialist.  This individual will be responsible for applying turf products to golf courses, lawns, sports complexes throughout the Evergreen FS territory.  The job will include application of fertilizer, treatment of weeds, and performing other professional applications while ensuring amazing customer service. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

 Applies fertilizers and pesticides to athletic fields, commercial, municipal, and residential areas according to recommended rates, procedure and following all pesticide labels.  Records application data according to regulations and standards.

 

Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products.  Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires high school diploma or equivalent and farm or agriculture experience helpful.

 

Must hold and maintain, or have the ability to obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer licenses or certifications.

 

Frequently exposed or required to:
 

Outside weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)

 

Working conditions may include chemicals with appropriate safety measures

 

May be required to work at varying heights

 

Lift (51-70 lbs)

 

Ability to work extended hours during peak seasonal demands.

 

 Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
