Assistant Director (Planning & Network)

[What the role is]
The CDC Planning & Development Division is under the People’s Association, and is responsible for strategies that enhance the five Community Development Councils (CDCs) position as the centre for community development, and community building. We work with people, private and public sector partners in Singapore, and foster international relations with overseas Mayors and Governors under the Office of the Mayors, by providing information, connection to partners and communities. [What you will be working on]

The key responsibilities for the role include developing strategies and initiatives to help the CDCs achieve their mission and objectives. The candidate will cultivate and expand networks for the purpose of establishing collaborative partnerships. This will entail managing national schemes and programmes which span across the five CDCs. A key part of the portfolio will involve evaluating the effectiveness of the common-based programmes in CDCs. The candidate is expected to oversee utilisation of divisional budget and procurement matters. This will include working with the five CDCs on matters such as grants management to ensure alignment of financial operations. The candidate is also expected to perform secretariat duties which include supporting overseas bilateral relations. The candidate will work closely with government agencies, and overseas counterparts.

[What we are looking for]

We are looking for an Assistant Director to join our team to oversee the Planning and Network portfolio. You must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience with necessary competencies to develop collaborative partnerships to support the mission of the CDCs. This role requires analyzing and synthesizing information from five CDCs to report trends, anticipate key issues, and propose recommendations to meet the needs of the community. You are expected to implement and maintain governance and accountability standards on policies related to the CDCs. A strong attention to details is essential to ensure accuracy on financial and budgetary matters.
