Associate Director, Engineering - Advanced Microelectronics Technology (Onsite)
*This position is based onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA
Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions. Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.

Discipline Description:
Analyzes, researches, designs and develops custom microelectronics technology and systems. Performs technology evaluations that include, but are not limited to, failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. Applies principles of mechanics, electronics, chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop microelectronics components and fabrication processes.
Job Level Description:
- Owns the execution of long-term strategy (e.g., more than 3 years) and operational direction, typically for an entire region, country, product or business of considerable size and scope. or, Owns the establishment and execution of short- to medium-term operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year to 1-2 years) for the organization.
- Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
- Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
Purpose:
Manages a department comprised of multiple teams led by managers and/or supervisors in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering. Liaises with high level stakeholders, monitors organization programs, and manages business reviews and resource allocations.
Responsibility Statements:
- Communicates with customers, competitors, suppliers, professional organizations, or others to stay abreast of industry or business trends.
- Oversees and manages business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis to optimize resources and ensure that standards are met.
- Liaises with high level stakeholders and assumes project sponsorship for key projects, when necessary, to ensure project completion.
- Selects, leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of project managers to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to project specifications.
- Monitors the cost, schedule and technical performance of the organization’s programs or subsystems of major programs to achieve established budget and quality goals
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
