Indirect Procurement Category Manager for Engineering & IT Software & Services

Introduction to the job
The U.S. Indirect Procurement team enables ASML’s success by sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships for all indirect procurement-related goods and services. This role is responsible for national and local supply management of all assigned areas of spend. He or she acts as an independent leader, actively sourcing, managing supplier performance, and close alignment with the business and stakeholders As a Category Manager for Engineering Services and IT Services & Software, you will lead procurement efforts for two critical spend categories:
- Outsourced Engineering Services in San Jose and San Diego, CA, partnering closely with local D&E and R&D teams.
- IT Software (including AI ) Mainly driven out of the west coast but not limited for all 17 U.S. ASML sites, collaborating with our global IT organization.
You will be expected to drive commercial value, mitigate risks, ensure compliance, and build strategic supplier relationships in these two highly technical and evolving domains.
Role and responsibilities
- Category Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute category strategies for outsourced engineering and IT software spend.
- Align sourcing strategies with engineering and IT leaders, ensuring early engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Act as a key business partner to engineering leaders in San Jose and San Diego, and IT leadership across the U.S.
- Identify, select, and manage suppliers of outsourced engineering services, AI tools, and enterprise software platforms.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Procurement Operations
- Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier onboarding in coordination with Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and proper risk management in supplier agreements.
- Market Intelligence
- Stay current on trends in outsourced engineering (e.g., nearshore/offshore models) and enterprise software (e.g., SaaS, AI, data platforms).
- Use industry insights to make strategic recommendations and influence sourcing decisions.
- Collaboration & Tools
- Leverage ASML’s procurement systems and tools to track performance and automate procurement workflows.
- Support team-wide initiatives and knowledge sharing across category teams.
Education and experience
- • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field required.
• 9+ years of procurement experience with direct responsibility for outsourced engineering services and/or IT.
• Experience supporting R&D or engineering teams is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of software procurement models (on-prem, SaaS, AI tools) is preferred.

- Proven project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel.
- Familiarity with risk and compliance issues in technical services and software procurement.
Travel Requirements
· Travel 25%, primarily to San Diego, CA, suppliers, Netherlands (HQ), and other ASML U.S. locations as needed.
The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$120,000-200,000Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
