About the role

The AWS Accounts Receivable (AR) team is seeking a self-driven AR Finance Manager with a strong owner’s mindset and relentless customer advocacy to support the Order-to-Cash (O2C) operations for the AWS Professional Services, Marketing and Training (PMT) Channels.

The AWS PMT Channels are a rapidly growing and important sales channel supporting the expansion of Amazon Web Services’ Cloud Business. We anticipate continued and significant growth with the opportunity to work with business leaders and technical teams to strategically shape the policies, procedures and mechanisms within PMT O2C.

This role will require working directly with our Billing, Collections and Cash Applications teams to identify, address and resolve customer payment issues. Additionally, the Finance Manager will need to work collaboratively with cross-functional AWS teams spanning multiple geographies including global business owners at all levels in Partner Sales and Marketing, Finance, Legal, multiple technical teams and other AWS/Amazon central teams to ensure the long-term success and efficacy of our programs.

This Finance Manager must be strategic and detail oriented with robust interpersonal and influencing skills, strong project management acumen, and the ability to gather business and technical requirements across global teams to drive systems and change management processes. This Finance Manager will need to be self-motivated, work independently, be comfortable mining and analyzing data with an extremely high level of ownership and accountability.

Key job responsibilities
• Systemically intake, escalate, and triage receivables (collections and cash payments) contacts and issues and follow-through to resolution, including executive-level communication.
• Recognize escalation trends and identify underlying defects and root causes.
• Identify and implement best practices to streamline the O2C processes
• Partner with business teams to gather partner feedback/requirements by identifying and quantifying process defects that negatively impact the customer experience and delay payments
• Collect, analyze and manage quantitative data to create meaningful analyses and models that drive business decisions.
• Create, validate and implement operational focused dashboards that measure both cash and/or process improvements
• Responsible for setting, allocating and measuring individual channel and segment goals that support the global AR PMT past due reduction goal
• Lead the account reconciliation process through deep dives and working directly with Track and drive actions, owners and timelines for late stage receivables ensuring steady progress toward timely resolution
• Educate internal and external customers on self-service tools.

• Monthly reporting to AWS Leadership
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting
• Independently make well-informed decisions

NOTE: This job is an in-office role (3+ days a week) and is non-negotiable.

Basic Qualifications


- 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 6+ years of Project/Program Management Experience
- 6+ years of identifying, implementing, and leading large-scale process improvement projects
- Advanced Excel skills, including but not limited to: pivot tables and charts, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Index/Match/Match, Sumifs, nested formulas, filters, basic functions, tables

Preferred Qualifications

- 6+ years of business-to-business collections experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges using data analysis and modeling
- 6+ years of SOX, controllership, or compliance experience
- Experience with writing intermediate to advanced SQL queries is a plus
