Job Summary:
A Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor is responsible for providing co-occurring disorder therapy to assist individuals, in accordance with their treatment plan, with substance use disorder(s) to improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and educational/working environments. Core services include conducting ongoing comprehensive substance use assessments, assessing and tracking client’s stages of change readiness and stages of treatment, using outreach and motivational interviewing (MI) techniques, using cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention, and applying treatment approaches consistent with clients’ stage of change readiness.
Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders (ITCD):
A Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor is responsible for providing co-occurring disorder therapy to assist individuals, in accordance with their treatment plan, with substance use disorder(s) to improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and educational/working environments. Core services include crisis intervention, medication services, medication administration, community support, outreach/engagement, co-occurring individual/group counseling and co-occurring group education.

Key responsibilities:
ACT/ACT-TAY, IMPART, ITCD:
Provide co-occurring disorder therapy, individual and group to clients in a community/home setting.
Complete intake/screening/assessment process within appropriate time frames as designated by state regulatory/accrediting body/agency standards.
Develop treatment plans for clients in accordance with state regulatory/accrediting body guidelines that demonstrate individualization and evolution based on information gathered from assessment.
Complete correspondence in a timely fashion.
Participate in clinical staffing/treatment team meetings providing feedback on pertinent cases.
Adhere to weekly service provision model.
Document all services provided in accordance with state regulatory/accrediting body/agency standards.
