What You’ll Do

As a Bulk Packager, you’ll be part of our Warehouse team located in Decorah, IA. You’ll get to:  prepare outgoing packaged product to meet customer and Company specifications using the Bonotto Package machine or Pan Line Packaging equipment.  Standard packaging is ¼ keg size boxes in these areas.  Assist in training of new employees.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

 JOB KNOWLEDGE:                                                    

     1.  Thorough knowledge of packaging systems.                         

     2.  Basic knowledge of computer usage and ability to learn the JDE system.                       

     3.  Knowledge of customer driven specifications.                     

     4.  Basic knowledge of part numbering system.                        

     5.  Print and service order knowledge.                               

     6.  Basic parts identifications.                                     

     7.  Thorough knowledge of all material handling equipment.           

     8.  Procedure manual location and contacts.                          

     9.  Thorough knowledge of all piece counting scales.                 

     10. Basic personal computer skills.                                  

     JUDGEMENT:                                                            

     1.  Prioritize activities to maximize efficiencies.                  

     2.  Recognize acceptable quality level of product.                   

     3.  Recognize unsafe condition or act and report to                  

         supervisor immediately.                                          

     4.  Recognize maintenance problems with minimal assistance.          

     5.  Ability to recognize situations requiring extra assistance.      

     6.  Recognize acceptable supply inventory.                           

     7.  Ability to recognize situations requiring inventory              

         adjustments.     

     PRODUCTIVITY:                                                         

     1.  Observes and reports maintenance problems to supervisor          

         or leadperson.                                                   

     2.  Makes minor repairs on packaging equipment and assists

Maintenance department           

         with major repairs.

     3.  Uses forktruck to move product as needed.                                             

     4.  Completes paperwork in a timely manner.                          

     5.  Sets up electronic scales for maximum accuracy.                  

     6.  Works productively throughout shift.                             

     7.  Assists in other areas as required.                               

     8.  Maintains customer requirement data.                             

QUALITY:

     1.  Uses proper carton per customer driven specifications.           

     2.  Fills out all paperwork neatly and accurately. 

     3.  Reports quality concerns promptly to necessary personnel.        

     4.  Accuracy of box and inventory quantities.
