Job Description

The Database Engineer III leads the design, development, and management of organizational databases to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security. This role partners with users and cross-functional teams to deliver database solutions that meet complex requirements and enable key business initiatives. The Database Engineer III performs performance tuning, modernizes designs, manages integrations, and implements advanced security and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of databases for complex systems
- Optimize database structures for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ensure security compliance and implement advanced safeguards
- Perform in-depth performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans
- Direct migration, conversion, and integration projects
- Maintain thorough documentation for systems and processes
- Collaborate with teams to deliver solutions that align with business goals

Skills and Knowledge

Expertise in data conversion, integration, and mapping, In-depth knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning, Proficiency in database migration strategies and advanced modeling, Proficiency in SQL and scripting for automation and complex queries, Skilled in advanced testing, debugging, and optimization, Strong ability to monitor, analyze, and enhance performance while ensuring security

Qualifications

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; 5–8 years of related experience; strong knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems; proven success in database performance tuning and optimization.

Physical Requirements: Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment; able to clearly view and read information on a computer screen; occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds.
