Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Leads the Company's ratings advisory efforts throughout the Americas for various Corporates sector clients and prospects
  • Provides industry knowledge of credit ratings as well as related methodologies and criteria
  • Advises clients on capital structuring advice with a goal of credit ratings optimization
  • Oversees production of commercial materials and presents the team’s solutions to client executives
  • Leads external credit rating deal executions (including commercial and analytical aspects) for Santander-led transactions.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders such as external clients, individuals at the Rating Agencies, and internal constituents
  • Has a deep understanding of Santander’s business globally, and an ability to synthesize rating agency criteria to best serve the bank’s clients
  • Works with junior members of the ratings advisory team to help them develop deeper understanding of the Corporate sectors and Rating Agencies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent degree and/or work experience, in business administration, finance or economics

Work Experience:

  • Minimum five years at a credit rating agency (i.e., Moody’s, S&P, or Fitch) and/or related investment-banking experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated thought leader and understanding of Corporates sector ratings
  • Strong understanding of Rating Agency methodology and criteria
  • Very strong interpersonal communication skills, complemented by both excellent verbal and written communication
  • Expert presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation, as well as analytical skills
  • Leadership experience and potential as well as an ability to mentor and train junior members of the team
  • Ability to work in a team environment

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range

Minimum:

$165,000.00 USD

Maximum:

$280,000.00 USD
