Hourly Rate:      $32 - $36

Sign-On Bonus

  • $1500.00 Sign On Bonus after 90 days 
  • $1500.00 after 180 days

 

Schedule

  • 3 days on; 4 days off; 4 days on; 3 days off
  • Hours: 6p-6a (Night Shift)
  • Overtime as required

 

Rockford Overview

The Owens Corning Rockford IL is a premier manufacturing facility that manufactures extruded polystyrene foam board insulation for primary use in the construction industry.

  • Non-union plant employing about 70 employees across 4 shifts; Maintenance team consists of 10 employees.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine planned and breakdown maintenance activities on shift. This person must be able to work independently. Must have a willingness to take initiative. Must be self-motivated and empowered to improve their skill sets. Have a high level of teamwork capability. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the process, process equipment, controls, and spare parts
  • Develop troubleshooting skills and techniques for the equipment and controls
  • Perform routine and nonroutine industrial maintenance tasks
  • Utilize our computer maintenance management system (SAP) to maintain and enter documentation from all work orders
  • Learn and comply with all Owens Corning safety policies along with all other plant rules
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area that is in compliance with 5S standards
  • Maintain high level of attendance
  • All other duties as assigned or needed

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and must have a critical eye for inspections
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
  • Must work well in team environment
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Efficient in execution and prioritization of multiple tasks
  • Above average troubleshooting of mechanical equipment in an industrial environment
  • Understanding, experience, and troubleshooting capabilities with industrial electrical
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude in an industrial environment

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Schooling and/or certifications in maintenance /electronics related field is required
    • Electromechanical Technology, Automated Systems, Mechatronics, or other Industrial Maintenance related fields
  • 3-5 year’s experience in an industrial maintenance position is preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
  • Willingness-to-learn-more attitude through developed work habits, machine instruction booklets, self-taught skills courses,
