The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
The selected candidate will perform day-to-day operations in support of the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) group and Launch Vehicle Processing for NASA’s Artemis Program.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
· Testing and Validation of flight ground systems.
· Follow work instructions and interpret engineer drawings.
· Follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Here's What You'll Need:
The candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and one plus (1+) year(s) of related experience or equivalent technical training.

Job Requirements
· Mechanical and/or electrical background in aviation or aerospace fields is highly desirable.
· Excellent communications skills.
· Must be able to follow work instructions and interpret engineering drawings.

· Some experience in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
· Ability to accommodate off shifts, weekends, and overtime work with minimal notice.
· If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
Physical Requirements
· Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
· Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and other associated personal protective equipment.
· Position will involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
· Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
