SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing Technical Support to manufacturing processes within a business unit. The job maintains and troubleshoots a wide range of machines, tools, equipment, and computer programs to establish and support production processes that aid in the production of furniture components in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Provides technical support to engineers and production to ensure project and production goals of the organization are met
• Suggests or implements changes that result in improved processes, products and productivity.
• Using technology tools, creates drawings, patterns and technical documentation needed to support engineering, purchasing and production.
• Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Prepares, fabricates, and assembles materials/parts for prototypes, samples and fixtures.
• Orders new tooling, tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed.
• Inventories, stores, and distributes tooling, tools and other equipment.
• Ensures tools and equipment are maintained and repaired.
• May recommend changes to improve process, product, efficiency, capability and yield.
• May troubleshoot and diagnoses product, process and equipment problems.
• Assists higher-level technicians.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
• Typically requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
• Minimum high school diploma Maintains a beginning and working knowledge of PLC operation & programming
• Technical expertise & Problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills; internet search, email, file storage etc.
• Use of basic measurement equipment; tape measures, calipers, dial indicators
• The ability to read, understand and follow drawings, instructions and machine manuals
• Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
• Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
• Typically requires 0-2 years of relevant work experience.

The work is performed primarily indoors. Work in a manner consistent with standard Sauder safety practices and expectations. The employee will also be required to walk throughout the plant at various times during a typical day.
