Job Summary
Summary: Responsible for managing medium to large-scale projects within an assigned functional area or across multiple entities. Takes ownership of the project lifecycle overall by guiding teams and staff, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and monitoring progress toward project goals. Essential Functions
-Develops comprehensive project plans, monitors, and manages projects from initiation through completion.
-Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes.
-Manages projects to ensure on-time completion, within specifications, and within budget.
-Communicates regularly on project status with project stakeholders.
-Owns project plans for medium to large-scale projects.
-Provides guidance to project coordinators.
-Identifies potential risks early, analyzes the possible impact, and develops mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials
Experience: Project management experience 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects effectively.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director of Operational Alignment, the Project Manager provides leadership for surgical instrument, supply optimization, and workflows across the continuum of service lines. The role supports integration efforts across the two Academic Medical Centers (AMC) by identifying opportunities to optimize and appropriately standardize inventory. The incumbent leads multi-campus operational integration efforts that ensure consistent execution of standard operating procedures, coordinated process improvement, and aligned performance expectations across MGH, BWH, and associated sites.
Partnering closely with the Clinical Nurse Program Manager, the Project Manager directly engages surgeons, nursing leaders, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to guide complex, longitudinal optimization initiatives. The role leads structured project planning, supports data acquisition and interpretation, and drives change across both physical inventories and the information systems that enable clinical practice. Success in this role requires strong project leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to influence change without direct authority.
The position leads cross-functional operational working groups—including quality, training, high-level disinfection and sterilization, SISO functions, and sustainment initiatives—to ensure enterprise alignment and long-term reliability. The incumbent translates evolving stakeholder needs, operational risks, and quality signals into coordinated improvement plans and system-level strategies that strengthen performance across the AMC CSPS network.
