Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Coordinates clinical research activities for patients with chronic liver disease, primary and secondary liver cancers, liver transplant recipients, living liver donors, and transplant candidates across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Screens patients with chronic liver disease, primary and secondary liver cancers, transplant candidates and recipients for study eligibility using electronic medical records and transplant databases.
- Collaborates with transplant physicians, transplant coordinators, organ procurement organizations, and research sponsors to facilitate study enrollment and protocol compliance.
- Coordinates collection and processing of biological specimens, including blood, tissue, perfusate, and biopsy samples, according to study protocols.
- Maintains transplant-specific research databases and ensures accurate reporting of study endpoints, graft outcomes, rejection episodes, adverse events, and patient follow-up.
- Assists with investigator-initiated studies focused on liver transplantation, organ preservation, machine perfusion, immunology, and transplant outcomes.
- Supports regulatory submissions, continuing reviews, protocol amendments, and sponsor monitoring visits for transplant research studies.
- Accountable for all tasks in basic clinical studies.
- Assists with various professional, organizational, and operational tasks under direct supervision.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
- Bachelors degree.
Experience:
- Background working in transplantation, hepatology, surgery, or other complex clinical specialties.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Knowledge of medical terminology/environment.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and IRB requirements.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Read and understand complex documents, such as clinical trials.
