Production Associate

SP Industries, an ATS Company, is expanding our team in Vineland, NJ and have an immediate opening for a Production Associate. In this role the right candidate will responsible for supporting multiple production departments including Shipping Shrink, Lab Prep, NMR, Grinding and Decorating. This role involves performing a variety of tasks to meet production schedules quality standards and customer specifications.
Hours are Monday thru Thursday on 1st Shift 4 -10s schedule.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping
- Receive count weigh and verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
- Inspect shipments for damage or shortages and report issues to supervisor
- Operate forklifts pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move and organize materials
- Transport glass laboratory equipment and supplies to appropriate areas
- Ensure accurate system transactions for inventory control and cycle counts
- Prepare packaging and documentation for safe and accurate delivery
Shrink Lab Prep
- Perform glass preparation activities including wash fire polish hot cut and shrink prep
- Read and interpret drawings BOMs and routers to execute preparation operations
- Use measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Execute sustained production in the prep department
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area
- Assist with supply management for tools parts and consumables
NMR
- Set up and operate equipment for cutting straightening and blowing round bottoms on NMR glass tubes
- Visually inspect tubes and measure tolerances using calipers and gauges
- Operate manual and automated machines to achieve throughput expectations
- Maintain quality and production standards according to internal and external specificationsAssist with replacement part supply and machine up keep
- Follow detailed work instructions BOMs and process routers
Grinding
- Route material to specific departments for manufacturing
- Set up and operate equipment used to cut grind and polish scientific glass
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications written in English
- Use a variety of measuring instruments including calipers to ensure parts meet quality standards for size and finish
- Execute sustained production in the grinding department
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Decorating
- Operate silk screening labeling or other decorating equipment to apply designs markings or logos to glass products
- Read and follow specifications to ensure accurate placement and quality of decorated items
- Inspect decorated parts for accuracy alignment and durability
- Maintain decorating equipment and perform minor adjustments as needed
- Assist with setup cleanup and supply management for decorating processes
- Support other production functions as required
Experience/Education
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Prior experience with glass handling or machining a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, BOMs, and routers.
- Basic math and measuring skills.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English reading and communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
