The University of Washington Autism Center (UWAC) has multiple outstanding opportunities for a Behavior Technician (Research Study Coordinator 1 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)) to join their team.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Behavior Technician is responsible for delivering direct, individualized intervention services to young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a clinic‑based setting. This role supports the implementation of evidence‑based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans, contributes to skill development and behavior improvement, and plays a vital role in supporting children and families while maintaining UW Autism Center clinical standards and practices.
This position is located at the UW Seattle Campus. Employees MUST be available during ABA Day Program hours – 8:30-11:30 and 1:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday Tuesday- Friday. Employees are also required to be available for work on Fridays if necessary, for up to half of a regular shift. Schedule can be up to 40 hours – (Tuesdays-Fridays 8:00-6:30e.g., Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:30, Friday 8:00-12:00) but is negotiable based on clinic need and applicant availability. Hours may be subject to change based on client need, clinic needs, or schedule scheduling needs.
Key Responsibilities
To provide direct intervention to children (ages 12 months to 6 years) with ASD in a clinic setting.
To accurately record client intervention data and manage records.
To develop individualized materials used in therapy
To attend meetings, as necessary.
PROVIDE INTERVENTION - 60%
Work 1:1 with children age 12 months through 6years of age and their parents
Implement intervention protocols developed by BCBA to increase skills/reduce problem behaviors.
Provide responsible, positive, sensitive intervention and care during therapy.
Apply ABA principles in therapy; tailor procedures to fit individual interests/needs.
Work under close supervision of master's level BCBA.
Assist in completion of curriculum assessments, as necessary.
ORGANIZING/MAINTAINING THERAPY SPACE - 20%
Maintain clinic therapy spaces in an organized, clean, and child-proof manner.
Follow sanitizing and cleaning procedures.
Follow COVID-19 precaution procedures and protocols.
Set up therapeutic materials prior to start of program and clean up at end of program
Comply with snack, diaper, and toileting procedures to ensure hygiene and safety with clients.
DEVELOP MATERIALS - 10%
Create and produce picture cards, books, and other visual supports as needed for the therapy program.
Create and produce motivation charts, token boards, PECS icons, visual schedules, play materials, etc.
