EE Tech Lead

What you’ll be able to do:

• Manage protype build scheduling and execution to meet project timelines 
• Manage EE aspects of the build based on CAD data and electrical schematics
• Manage parts build across internal and external suppliers as directed by model design team
• Manage assembly of on and off vehicle instrumentation including connection to data acquisition equipment
• Ensure physical test setup and acquired data meets quality standards
• Mentor and develop technicians in the Operations group

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Hands-on skills relating to vehicle build and physical assembly of components
• Technologically inclined and competent using windows-based programs
• Excellent attention to detail in both physical and computer environments
• Logical thinker with good judgement and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work with commitment and accuracy under pressure to successfully meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team

Our preferred requirements

 

• Reduce cycle time and costs by handcrafting electrical and mechanical prototypes for various levels of engineering testing and evaluation
• PCB component-level manual assembly including fine-pitch surface mount devices.
• PCB level circuitry testing, troubleshooting, repair and modification of assemblies.
• Assembly of precision performance-critical and custom cables.
• Use CAD software to design, draft, layout and implement revisions of electrical PCB's and mechanical prototypes.
• Create, document and maintain spreadsheets for inventory control of electrical components and mechanical parts, status of lab test equipment, coordinated test vehicles usage and maintenance schedules.     
• 5-10 years of EE technician experience or equivalent
